Deep Hole Drilling - Second Tube Plate nears completion!! - UPDATED MAY 2007

TBT UK Ltd are now only days away from completing the second of a pair of Titanium tube plates it has been Gun Drilling for MB Engineering Services in Scotland.

Work on the order for drilling the two tube plates which measured 1415mm in diameter x 265mm thick commenced at the beginning of this year with each plate having 1742 holes drilled at 19.25 +/- 0.05mm diameter through its 265mm thickness whilst maintaining close positional accuracy at both the entry and exit points of each hole. The Tube Plates have both been drilled an a fully CNC controlled TBT BW300 deep hole drilling machine which was installed at TBT UK Ltd two years ago and can handle components up to 20 tons in weight and can drill holes from 5.00mm diameter up to 80.00mm diameter and up to a depth of 2500mm.
